Bonnie & Rob are describing this sale as exceptional! An important feature of this sale is a large body of work by the late local portrait artist, Eileen Fabian. Ms. Fabian's art has been shown and offered for sale in many local and regional galleries, and are an important contribution to art in North Carolina. This sale will be a rare opportunity to purchase from her extreme quantity of work.
“Ms. Fabian studied art at the Royal Irish Academy of Art and in Portugal with Professor Diaz, a colleague of Picasso. She also studied at the Art Students League in New York and also in the Far East. In Atlanta, she studied with Russian painter Roman Chatov. She believes in the disciplined form of art exhibited by the Old Masters and bemoans the fact that painters today don’t take the time to hone their craft – by studying anatomy, for example.”*
To quote Ms. Fabian: ‘I believe good painting is achieved by discipline and hard work. It is not the result of inspiration, sudden flashes or random happenings.’*
In addition, the house is filled with many treasures from the Fabian's years of worldwide travels. In addition to art, we are offering ceramics, vintage glass, a camera collection, unusual & rare decorative accessories, an interesting variety of furniture, sports equipment, a large selection of men's clothing, room full of women's clothing,
household & kitchen items, 1988 Volvo Sedan, a separate tool area with a huge selection of tools, & much more...

All Extravaganzas have a four-day format, each day of the sale having its own features.
On Friday, many buyers arrive at the sale site early to lay claim to a position to get an entry number to be issued at 10:30 p.m. At 11:00 am, the outdoor tables will open for all to shop [weather permitting in winter months]. With 100's of great items available, shoppers have fun rummaging through the boxes to find appealing deals while waiting for the building to open. At 11:00 am, the Annexes also open and shoppers are rewarded with more amazing treasures to grab. And, at 12 noon, the main building opens. Those shoppers with numbers enter in order of their numbers; others arrive simply when they can and stroll into the building. The sale is open until 7:00 pm so that those who have to work during the day can still make it to the sale.
On Saturday, the sale opens at 9:00 am. There are no numbers and Saturday shoppers are attracted to the thousands of items available. The people congestion is noticeably reduced, providing less crowded aisles and shorter checkout lines, and door prizes are mixed into the day. The doors close at 5:00 pm.
On Sunday, shoppers are lined up again to gain the earliest possible entry into the building for half-price shopping. The sale opens at 1:00 pm and runs until 5:00 pm. With so much available for sale, thousands of unsold great finds await Sunday deal seekers.
And on Monday, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, bargain day arrives with prices below half-price. The TEAM’S mission is to empty the building, so the deals are exciting.
Parking is available at the Mountain Home Fire Dept. located across the street with a shuttle provided for safe transport across the highway, as well as in front of the building, and the lot on the other side of Ripley Street. The TEAM accepts Visa, MC, AMEX, Cash, & Checks.
